On November 22nd 2012, the UK Department for Work and Pensions published 'Reinvigorating Workplace Pensions', in which it proposes the introduction of a new category of pensions in the UK market: defined-ambition (DA) pensions. In this article we take a closer look at DA pensions and examine the Dutch experience of introducing them. We look at what DA pensions have to offer employers and employees, and discuss whether DA pensions may provide a third way for pensions in the United Kingdom.
